when jayden was born shandrea and i both wondered who jayden looked like as we couldn’t identify any of our facial features in him. so as i was talking on the phone with a friend i looked up on the wall and i saw a baby picture of me and then it was clear to me that ‘poobie’ looked like me!

of course i no longer slob at the mouth like poobie….well at least not in public but man when there is a big plate of chicken wings on the counter top you had better watch out!

i haven’t been writing much because i have been so busy the last 6 weeks or so, i usually comment a little more about the images but my creative writing skills have diminished in the last 6 weeks or so. good thing shandrea has been picking up the slack for me!
anyway, while we were in the Bahamas i noticed the vibrant colored walls on some of the building and I wanted to bring that style back to the studio so here is my attempt at that.
i really like closeup images so here is another example of the style of images i like…

time is flying by…i am serious!. i can remember when jayden could only open one eye (i nicked named him popeye!) and now he’s able to hold himself up!
i felt sad taking his pictures because when shandrea placed him on the bench he was able (to my surprise) to lift himself up. i felt like i had missed out on something…a part of his life. whenever i placed him on his stomach he could not lift his head up and he always fidgeted a lot!
i love just b/w pictures or split-tone images so here are my favorite 3 month pictures…
…shandrea really prefers color pictures so i guess i have to place some up

well i know its been a long time since i have posted so hopefully you’ll forgive me!
it’s amazing to see young kids grow up! i honestly can remember them when they were clinging to their mom for life and now they are so independent! i always wanted to give their parents a gift to show them how much i care about them so I finally got around to having a session with them (although its about 2 years late!)

If you were around in the early 1990’s – chances are you have noticed that the menswear vest is making a comeback. And if done right it is a super hot look. However, just because vests are making a comeback does not necessarily mean you need to pull your vest out from the late 80’s / early 90’s and wear it today. The vest have been updated slightly. Also known as cropped vests, it creates a very tailored and polished look – which I am a fan of. I don’t believe that everyone can pull this trend off – because you literally have to do it right in order for it to look good or you will run the risk of looking a hot mess! The key to taking the vest from boring menswear to trendy, feminine look is wearing the cropped vest similar to a corset. So the first tip of the day is to make sure the vest fits you well. Not too tight ladies – or we will see all the wonderful rolls you weren’t trying to show.  Â
The second tip is what to pair it with. My absolute favorite – a pair of dark washed jeans (skinny or bootcut).  Or if you are into the wide-legged jeans, the cropped vest goes well with this look.  Pairing the vest with a pencil knee length skirt is very chic. But the most important decision is what top to wear underneath the vest – if you dare to wear a top underneath it at all.  Wearing a vest alone with a pair of jeans can be worn as a daytime look or transform into an evening look by adding your favorite heels.                       Â
                     Â
The most popular way the cropped vest is worn is layered with a button down top and the top is generally longer than the vest. This look can be worn with jeans, trousers or pencil skirt. It creates a very tailored and polished look.

                 Â
               Â
Another suggestion is wearing a t-shirt or tank top underneath – and that look should be worn with jeans – however I AIN’T mad at you if you rock some killer heels with this look.   It creates a more causal, yet pulled together look.   Â
                                 Â
                    Â
I don’t believe the cropped vest is for everyone – but if you can pull it off it will transform your outfit to a chic, might I say urban, polished look. One fashion no-no – please leave the ties at home Ladies.  One menswear in your outfit is enough!

Andre asked me the other day when is it ok to wear white pants. And it got me thinking about all the people who wear white pants and those who are doing it right and others………well let’s just keep this post positive!! White is a very pretty color to wear in the spring and summer. It has a very fresh, vibrant and clean look. And that is the topic of this post is how to wear white keeping the look fresh, fun and my favorite word classic or timeless. The number one mistake you can make is not wearing the right material under your white pants – if you get what I mean! With white pants, you can see everything ladies – especially when the sun is out. Do society a favor by not showing us your “Victoria’s Secret”!   If you can do that, you are well on your way to a nice look.
Below are some examples of how to wear white bottoms:
                                          Â

You can’t go wrong with a white suit. You can wear to the office but I like this look out at night. Paired with the right shoes, handbag and jewelry - very NICE! If you think the black top with a white suit is too 1970’s – John Travolta disco era – then pair with another color. I’m thinking a chocolate cami would look nice.
White top and bottom – classic look. Add a metallic bracelet to complete the look.   Or to make this look a little more casual – add a jean jacket.
White and black together is timeless. I like the black jacket paired with the shorts. That’s nice if you’re going on a vacation - Islands, Miami or even Vegas.
      Â
Color with white is pretty when done right. The key to pulling this look off is try not to wear bold, bright colors with a bright white bottom. You can easily cross the line from trendy to tacky. With an outfit like this – minimal accessories are required. Possibly a small bracelet is only needed.
Fashion tip: When you wear white, you will be noticed. Don’t distract or overdo it with your jewelry – more is definitely less. Metallic jewelry looks really nice with white.
Please note – all fashion tips are only my opinions! And yes the whole theory of “you can’t wear white after labor day” is so 1960’s – but I will say that there is a different type of white you should wear in the fall and winter. Its called winter white!Â
Until next week………………S.
