you would think that as a photographer that i would have 1000’s of pictures of my kids but for me its just not true. i think one of the problems is that its hard for me to take pictures if the ’scene’ and lighting is not perfect or the usable. its hard for me to switch hats and just take a picture for memory sake…which is why i have never used the camera feature on any of my phones over the years.

this is the last picture i took of jordyn and this was a while ago!

…and poor jayden, i haven taken pictures of him since his 1st birthday party…but its really not my fault anymore as he just won’t stay still for the camera anymore as he has better things to do like sneaking to eat a piece of chalk or running around the studio and etc.

these were the last ‘official’ images of jayden before he became a man.

i need to get jordyn down to the studio soon as the ‘kinfolks’ have been nudging me for some ‘mo’

since i have posted any pictures, and what worse than that? i haven’t taken the time to capture some more images of jordyn . so we headed downtown again and I was originally wanted to shoot some studio shots but i had this location in mind that i always wanted to shoot at but i doubt most brides would like this location it has excellent lighting (which is more important that a pretty background) and the urban background with the water stains and rust on concrete really makes this my number one spot outdoors.

when jayden was born shandrea and i both wondered who jayden looked like as we couldn’t identify any of our facial features in him. so as i was talking on the phone with a friend i looked up on the wall and i saw a baby picture of me and then it was clear to me that ‘poobie’ looked like me!

of course i no longer slob at the mouth like poobie….well at least not in public but man when there is a big plate of chicken wings on the counter top you had better watch out!

time is flying by…i am serious!. i can remember when jayden could only open one eye (i nicked named him popeye!) and now he’s able to hold himself up!

i felt sad taking his pictures because when shandrea placed him on the bench he was able (to my surprise) to lift himself up. i felt like i had missed out on something…a part of his life. whenever i placed him on his stomach he could not lift his head up and he always fidgeted a lot!

i love just b/w pictures or split-tone images so here are my favorite 3 month pictures…

still locating a couple of forgotten pictures of jordyn, so i called her to the computer and we designed this art photograph. i would try some things and she would just say ‘no’ daddy…its not working!

there’s a bible verse hidden in the text but i would guess that it would be impossible to determine what it is…right?

i was re-organizing my collection of images and i found some images of jordyn that I had never processed.:-(

these were from a shoot she was helping me with and even though she looks like she’s having a bad day she really wasn’t! that’s the beauty of capturing images of your child because it records their entire personality…not just the shots were you go “1-2-3 say cheese!”

jayden was born this past friday (02.02.2007) @ 8:01am weighing in at a hefty 7lbs 20″ coming into the world full of screaming.

having acquired the andré lamont patton gene, jayden appreciates a hearty feeding followed by a nice long nap.

having two day old images of jayden are so precious to me because i know that children grow up so fast. capturing his first days of life is priceless

i think its time for shandrea and i to turn up the excitement meter! poor kid is going to have so many pictures but i won’t start taking them until he/she is 2 months old…i think.
