moving on

October 1, 2007

i have been waiting for an opportunity to experiment with a different style of lighting and i was fortunate enough to test it out. i would like to take all sports related shots with this style of lighting so what do you think?

while i love my favorite spot, i stumbled upon another location and i like it because of the abundance of color and…and…i really like to shoot in the run down places in the city as i like the contrast of nice clothing versus a run down scenery

and finally i was surprised to find this location right underneath my nose! i like this shot as it still has some urban elements in it (pipes and etc)

i was able to expermint a little more with this session and here are additional images

  1. Looks like you had a nice session. I especially like the strobist-style lighting in the first–very suitable for sports related photographs. I like the DOF in the last shot, too.

  2. Dre, the pics are fresh,, digging the Contrast along with the vibrant colors they seem to pop… What type of software are you using to smooth the skin because it looks really good.. keep doing it hopefully you will enjoy my photographs Im really new to the whole blogging thing but it seems fun… hit me back Corey

    jarette,
i have been wanting to do more mult-lighting sports related shots but i could never get around to it. hopefully as i do less weddings i will be able to do more creative stuff that has been rotting in my head.

    hey corey,

i am still using PS C1 and still feel no need to upgrade. i use lightroom for my basic work and then i retouch selected images in photoshop.

i don’t post like i want to only because there are plenty of days when visiting a computer is the last thing on my mind. during the winter break, hopefully i will be able to reverse engineer some great photographers retouching techniques to add more tools in my bag.

I like the lighting effects in the first picture, it reminds me of the way they did the images in the movie 300.
